Denice is our other exception to the defination of a War Bride. She arrived in Newfounland in 1953 were she met and married Gerald Rees. Jouring the WWII Gerald had served in the RAF and Denise served in the WAAF. Here we would like to note Denides involment with the Rose and Thistle Club in St. John's were her help was indepenable. She worked with the war birdes for over 40 years which lead to her eventually taking over the group when long time head, May Ash left the province in 2006.
